Are We There...

India started Liberalization in the year 1991 and it still Continues to be a work in Progress. Though we have come a long way from those days But a lot more needs to be Done. We have given birth to Companies like Flipkart, Ola, Paytm and many more but these Companies are owned by Foreigners.

I wonder if US will ever allow an Indian or Chinese company to buy a significant stake in Amazon, Apple or Boeing. Most Indian companies and promoters are Always keen to welcome Foreigners. These foreigners eventually end up buying them out rightly. Indian Government did nothing to stop Walmart from arm twisting Flipkart and its management. They remained a mute spectator like always and now Walmart owns Flipkart. It is like giving away Family jewels but nobody being bothered about it.

I have worked in various MNCs and felt that though Indians occupy a lot of important positions the final voice or Authority is a Foreigner most of the times. I have nothing against anyone and met some Great Americans and Britishers while working. They will always remain Friends for life and be like Family. But I wonder if a day will come when an Indian born person will be CEO of British Airways.

As a Country we still face a lot of Challenges. Our Economy is weak and we are still too reliant on IT Exports. India has to be Developed as a Manufacturing hub but Government seems to be the biggest hindrance in Achieving this goal. Tax issues and Compliance also need to be enhanced Significantly. Our growing Population is a big problem but no one seems Concerned. I stayed in Delhi for Almost 10 years but moved to Chandigarh due to Pollution. People of Delhi are still okay with Freebies though  they may be earning a lot of Money. Lack of Respect for Law and Order is rampant in the whole NCR and it is a Disturbing thing. Nobody is Bothered about Safety of Women and Children and most People are Obsessed with Bollywood and Fake Celebrities. We have to Overcome a wide range of issues if India has to join the Ranks of Developed countries. I hope for the Best and Feel that All of us Need to work hard for Progress and Development of India.
